Starting with the pencil

I thought I would include some of the starting sketches for the characters here. You can see that the direction for the nurse changes quite dramatically here. I wanted to here to send a real shiver down your spine. each to their own i suppose. Nice.

Whats your Black Magoo?
Above are some the characters from the vid and their prospective Black Magoo's. I suppose a Black Magoo is whatever you want to be. I am looking to try and set a competition with Fuzi for people to submit drawings of their Black Magoo's. Could be pretty cool to what people come up with.

Thought Id just upload some of the characters form the band. All characters were designed in pencil first then redrawn and refined in flash. Great fun to draw some of your mates as cartoon characters.

More Backgrounds

Ive Just got back from a well deserved holiday in Argentina. If you haven't been, go, its brilliant.
So I thought I would try and get this blog thing going again. So without to much jabber here are some more background images from the vid.

Backgrounds

Here are a couple of the backgrounds used in the animation. Some backgrounds were drawn in pencil, scanned and coloured in Photoshop. Others were drawn in flash then exported to Photoshop and finally textured with Painter. Eventually I realised that for myself, at least it was quicker to make a very rough mock up in flash and get the colours right there before going into the detail.
